Eligibility:
All artists are invited to submit up to three entries for the show. Original works in any medium or combination of media are eligible: paintings, drawings, prints including photographs, collages, multi-media, sculpture, constructions, assemblages, wall hangings, ceramic, glass and plastic forms, fiber arts, jewelry, etc. Giclee/Prints will not be juried.
Best of Show, First, Second, Third Place and 3 honorable mention Awards and Peoples Choice
Art Show Entry Fee: $35.00 non-refundable.
All artists will be required to do one of the following:
Sit the gallery for 2 hours on any weekend of the show, pay a $20 fee or after all sitting positions are filled then those left will provide finger food for the reception. These choices are offered on a first-come-first served basis on the submission dates.
Directions for Submitting Entries
1.Please fill in all blanks on the Entry/Submission Form provided. (Print out pages at 65% as needed)
2.On the back/bottom of each entry, attach the enclosed label/attached with complete information. Print in ink your name, title of work, media and size. Indicate the top of each work with an arrow.
3.Enclose $35.00 fee per artist with your Entry/Submission Form. Fees are non-refundable. Make checks payable to PACO or Pacific Community Services, Inc. Works unaccompanied by entry fees will not be accepted.
4.Artist’s biographical information should be submitted by January 5, 2013 to be included in the show catalogue. Otherwise, this information can be submitted with your Entry/submission Form not later than, January 13, 2013 and will be made available in addition to our catalogue.
5.Original works submitted will be juried for the PACO awards on January 16, 2013, Winners will be announced and all artists are asked to be present at the Awards Presentation on Saturday, January 19, 2013, no later than 7:00 p.m.
6.Each Artist will receive up to ten invitations for the reception. Please provide your own postage.
7.Artists may offer prints for sale and display other promotional materials in a space designated by the PACO staff.
Deadline for Receipt of Work:
All works must be delivered to Impulse Gallery,
329 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, CA, and received by PACO personnel on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, or Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 between 12 - 4 p.m., or ship your entries prepaid soon enough to arrive at P.A.C.O., at 329 Railroad Ave., Pittsburg, CA 94565, by Jan. 4, 2013. Shipped entries must contain prepaid return shipping costs and instruction. All entry conditions must be observed and labels completed and attached to all pieces.
Liability:
All possible care will be taken in handling and showing of works, but it is understood and agreed that all entries are submitted at owner’s risk. Neither PACO nor Pacific Community Services, Inc., or other sponsoring organizations will assume responsibility for loss/damage to works submitted, their frames or glass, no matter how sustained. Accepted works must remain on exhibit for the duration of the exhibition and are subject to publicity reproduction. The Artist agrees to the above stipulations upon entering the PACO Winter Art Exhibit.
Sales:
The public sale of works during the course of the exhibition is permitted and will be transacted by PACO staff if the artist is not present. Works must remain until payment clears, at which time should be replaced with similar artwork. A 15% commission is charged by PACO, plus 2.75% for credit card sales. Artists will be personally responsible for paying 8.25% sales tax on works sold.
Condition of Qualifying Entries:
Only original works will be accepted for consideration of awards. Giclee or Print/Copy pieces may be accepted for exhibition but will be exempt from consideration by the jury for awards. All Original works must have been created independently and not have been shown at any other prior PACO art show exhibits.
Work to be displayed will be selected by a committee of artists who will also determine placement of the art work based upon the type of piece, flow of the exhibit, dispersion, space, etc. PACO reserves the right to reject works difficult to exhibit because of excessive size or for any other reason. There is a 250 lb. weight limit.
Frames, Mats & Hanging Wires, etc: Entries must be finished and/or suitable for handling, display and ready to hang. When appropriate, and for their own protection, all original works, including prints, photographs and drawings must be suitably matted, framed, and equipped with a wire, please. Acrylic recommended instead of glass, but is optional. Three-dimensional works must be submitted with appropriate display stands, pedestals, etc.

Exhibition Dates: January 19 thru February 9
Opening Reception Saturday Jan. 19th from 6 to 8 p.m.
Gallery Hours: Mon. - Fri. 8 - 5 p.m., Sat. & Sun. 1 - 5 p.m.
All artists will be required to sit the gallery on one Saturday or Sunday for a minimum of 2 hours. Sitting time will be scheduled at the time of submission of works. A $20.00 fee may be paid in lieu of gallery sitting.
